Da Increase: Nowadays the cost of living is constantly increasing. The pressure in the pockets of the common people is increasing due to the skyrocketing prices of daily necessities, the increase in the price of fuel and the slowdown in the market. In this situation, government employees have been demanding an increase in dearness allowance for a long time, so that the standard of living can be maintained in line with inflation.
Where is the difference between center and state?
While central government employees get regular increase in dearness allowance, this facility is very irregular in case of state government employees. In the case of West Bengal, a case is also going on in the Supreme Court regarding the outstanding DA. On the other hand, there are reports of DA increase for various state government employees, which is instilling new hope.
Good news for state government employees!
Recently, it has been reported that the state government may decide to increase the dearness allowance for its employees. Although there has been no official announcement, the Finance Department has indicated that the DA may increase by up to 7% in the next few months. That is, there is going to be a major change in the monthly salary of the employees.
Budget and economic pressure equation
The 2025 Budget (Budget 2025) announced an increase in dearness allowance at the rate of 3% for state government employees and pensioners, which will come into effect from April. However, the state’s dearness allowance is still much less than the center. The Tripura government also has a debt burden of around Rs 21,000 crore, which has created an economic crisis.
When will the official announcement come?
According to the sources of the Finance Department, a decision on the increase in DA may be taken if money is received from the 16th Finance DA Commission (Finance Commission). However, no official notification has been received so far. So employees have to wait for the next government announcement.
