PM-CM Removal Bill: Prime Minister will lose his post – Chief Minister! Centre’s stunning bills in jail

Kolkata: The Center will introduce three bills (PM-CM Removal Bill) in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The bill aims to remove the Prime Minister, Union Minister, Chief Minister and Ministers if they are arrested or detained in criminal cases.

Mr Shah raised three bills which allowed the removal of elected representatives including the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister if he was arrested or detained on serious criminal charges. As opposed to the bills (PM-CM Removal Bill), Mr. Benugopal questioned the BJP’s claim that the bills were brought to confirm the policy and noted that Mr Shah was also arrested while he was the Home Minister of Gujarat. “I was framed in an arranged case, but I resigned before my arrest,” Mr Shah replied. Earlier, several opposition members including Manish Tiwari of Congress and Dharmendra Yadav of Samajwadi Party opposed the bill.

What are the bills about?

The bills stated that if the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, State and Union Territories were arrested and detained for 30 consecutive days on charges of offenses punishable by imprisonment for five years or more, the President, Chief Minister (in the case of State Ministers), Governors (in the case of Chief Ministers) and Deputy Governors. (For the Chief Minister of the Union Territories) will be removed from their posts within 31 days. The bills say that they can be reappointed after being released from custody.

The statement regarding the purpose and cause of the bill, which was broadcast among members of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, said, “Elected representatives represent the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. It is hoped that they will rise above the political interests and work only for the welfare of the people and the welfare of the people. will be above doubt.”

It states that a minister, who is arrested and in custody on charges of serious criminal offenses, can foil or hinder the constitutional ethics and good governance principles, and ultimately reduce the constitutional trust given by the people in him.
